More About the Autumnal Tulip Collection:

Born in the spring sun in early 2025, these tulips finally became ready to share in late Autumn after many life changes for my family. While the seasons that passed between their birth and their release were full of great joy and countless blessings, by the time autumn came around, my heart, body, and calendar were so full that I became acutely aware of my need for a generous Savior who could bear the weight of all I was carrying.

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Matthew 11:28-30 became verses that sang in the back of my mind as I cooked and fed neighbors, brushed teeth and gave baths to my children, cleaned the house and blew the leaves - and even as I prepared these works for the homes of others. There is a tangible relief I feel when I hear those trustworthy words "...and I will give you rest." What a gift it is for a limitless God to say that to his creation who is full of limitations. How generous!

And that is what I see in these works: they bear the mark of a generous God who gives us the rain, sun, and soil we need to grow and thrive and bring beauty into this world. They echo the promise that our generous God will give us rest from the burdens we try so hard to carry on our own. My prayer is that as you carry these spring-born, Autumnal Tulips into many more seasons and beyond, they will be a reminder to you, too, that our gentle and lowly King will be the rest you need.

The beautiful thing about original art is that it is full of character and contains evidence that it was handmade with love. This means that your piece may have splatters, bleeds, splotches, or even dirt marks that occurred throughout the process of painting, developing, and rinsing each cyanotype. These “blemishes” add to the character of each piece, tell the story of its creation, and remind you and the viewer that there is no other piece quite like it! If you have questions about any of these special marks, please reach out to me directly before purchasing, as all sales are final.

Additionally, due to the nature of pieces being hand torn and/or thoroughly soaked in water, the final measurements of your piece may slightly vary from the standard sizing shown on each listing. It is advisable to bring your piece with you when framing to accurately determine the necessary sizes of your mat and/or frame.
