im(print)ed ornament
nominations

In the fall of 2022, I received the honoring request to make ornaments for multiple friends who were spending their first Christmas without a beloved family member. I quickly came to believe that a botanical cyanotype is the perfect gift to nurture joy in these friends, and here’s why:

As the sun prints a permanent image of the fading beauty of nature, so our loved ones leave a permanent mark on our lives even when they are gone. And I believe these ornaments can remind us that we have been permanently imprinted with the unfading love and beauty of those who are no longer with us here on earth.

Therefore, these ornaments given in memory of loved ones will now be known as my “im(print)ed” ornaments, and I want to gift one to someone who may need help nurturing joy during this holiday season as they grieve the absence of a loved one.

To nominate a recipient of this gift, please fill out the form below (all nominations will remain confidential). A recipient will be selected using a random name generator, and I will email their nominator on November 30th before mailing the ornament on December 1st. Thank you for helping me nurture joy in someone’s heart this holiday season. If your nominee is not selected, know that I plan to continue this tradition in 2024 and am brainstorming ways to expand this opportunity in the future, so please stick around!
